2009 Cowal Champions: Field Marshal; Inveraray wins all five Grade 2 majors
Dunoon, Scotland – August 29, 2009 – Field Marshal Montgomery of Belfast wrapped up a near-perfect season of majors with a fourth win at the Cowal Championships.in a 14-band Grade 1 contest. The band easily secured the RSPBA Champion of Champions award, with its only non-first-prize coming at the World Championships, where the band finished second. In Grade 2, Inveraray & District completed a sweep of all five championships with a final victory, cementing the band’s certain promotion to Grade 1. The Grade 1 results were announced first to allow the top bands the opportunity to participate in the traditional march down the street to the ferry home.
