2015 Pipe Idol champion Scott Barrie accepts his Fred Morrison smallpipes from Fred Morrison himself.

Glasgow – August 13, 2015 – Scott Barrie of Glasgow, a 19-year-old piper with the Grade 1 Greater Glasgow Police Scotland Pipe Band, was the winner of the 2015 Pipe Idol championship at Piping Live!, qualifying over four rounds and playing the Grand Final against three other contestants.

Also playing in the all-Scottish final were Robbie MacIsaac, Harry MacLachlan and Callum Watson.

Each competitor had to perform a March, Strathspey & Reel, a Hornpipe & Jig and a medley of their own choosing.

The final was judged by four judges in the audience, unannounced to the players. The event was streamed live on Piping Live!’s channel.

For his efforts, Barrie received a set of top-of-the-line Fred Morrison smallpipes valued at more than £2,000.
