400 Squadron Pipe Band will attempt world record

The 400 Squadron Pipes & Drums, based in Dowsnview, Ontario, will attempt to set a certified Guinness World Record when it performs for more than 60,000 people on Canada Day, July 1, at the Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto.

The record will be “the biggest indoor audience to ever hear a single pipe band,” as 400 Squadron opens the Alcoholics Anonymous annual international convention. The event will also be the largest convention ever held in the city of Toronto.

400 Squadron is one of the most established bands in Canada. It currently competes in Grade 3 on the Ontario circuit.
