47th Culter Dominates at Boys Brigade Band Championships

Troon, Scotland – April 21, 2001 – A packed Troon Town Hall attended the annual Boys Brigade Pipe Band Championships held here today, and saw the 47th Culter Boys Brigade Pipe Band of Aberdeen, Scotland, take away top honours against stiff competition.

The Boys Brigade is a long-time training ground for pipers in the United Kingdom. Several of the Juvenile and Novice Juvenile grade bands have risen to prominence and competed head-to-head with bands in Grade 3 and 4, respectively.

Judges for all events were George Summers (piping), Steve McQuillan (drumming), and Alistair Aitken (drumming).
