78th Frasers Win Fort Erie

Fort Erie, Ontario – June 15, 2002 – The annual Loch Sloy Highland Games were held here today under at times stormy, at times sunny skies. The event was moved to a larger, but much less picturesque, facility after it outgrew its previous location on the banks of Lake Erie at Old Fort Erie.

The 78th Fraser Highlanders won the Grade 1 contest after a tie for first with the Toronto Police was broken by the ensemble mark. The Windsor Police Pipe Band won Grade 2.

Michael Grey, Dundas, Ontario, took his second straight Piper of the Day award, with a solid showing in the Professional Solo Piping. There were 19 competitors in the category.
