78th Frasers prevail at Kincardine

Kincardine, Ontario – July 7, 2007 – The Kincardine Scottish Festival in the seemingly perpetually sunny town on the shore of Lake Huron continues to grow in popularity with bands and soloists, with the townspeople coming out en masse to support the event enthusiastically. Because of space requirements, the five grades of pipe band events are limited to 25 entrants in a first-come system.

In Grade 1, the Scottish Lion-78th Fraser Highlanders took straight firsts, while in Grade 2 the Niagara Regional Police edged out the Hamilton Police for the prize. Grade 3 went to visiting George Watson’s College, which gained four first placings from the judges and an appreciative standing ovation from the crowd.
