Chisholm wins first United States Gold Medal contest
Kansas City, Missouri – January 16, 2004 – Jori Chisholm of Seattle was the winner of the first Kansas City St. Andrew Society – Midwest Highland Arts Fund United States Gold Medal Piobaireachd Contest held at the Marriott Country Club Plaza hotel.
The contest attracted a total of ten entries, and is sponsored by the Midwest Highland Arts Fund and The Kansas City St. Andrew Society.

The contest was judged by Willie McCallum, Andrew Wright and Mike Cusack.
Also entered were: Andrew Rogers, Fredericton, New Brunswick; Ed Neigh, Waterloo, Ontario; Ian Whitelaw, Hermosa Beach, California; Alasdair Gillies, Pittsburgh; Dan Diessner, Portland, Oregon; Peter Aumonier, Oakville, Ontario; and Michael Rogers, Silver Spring, Maryland.
In the Silver Medal contest at the same venue, some thirty-five competitors competed, with Neil Macpherson of British Columbia winning the top prize.
