Clan Gregor actively searching for L-D

After its entire drum section left to join Grade 1 rival Fife Constabulary, the Clan Gregor Pipe Band of Scotland has made it clear that it is searching for a new lead-drummer to begin the process of building a new corps.

“Following recent events, the band is in the process of reorganizing itself,” said Clan Gregor Pipe-Major David Clunie. “The band would now like to invite all parties interested in applying for the position of lead drummer with a view to building a corps.”

Clunie said that interested candidates should contact the band by e-mail at clangregorpb@hotmail.com.

Contrary to rumours, Clan Gregor has not been approached by any of the incumbent drummers from Fife Constabulary. It is understood that the majority of the Fife Constabulary drum section is remaining with the band to play under new Leading-Drummer Mick O’Neill.

Clunie added: “We would also like to take the opportunity to wish Michael O’Neil and his drum corps all the best with their new musical direction.”
