Draw made for Kansas City Gold Medal event

We have obtained an advance copy of the draw for the first “Kansas City St. Andrew Society – Midwest Highland Arts Fund United States Gold Medal Piobaireachd Contest” scheduled for January 16, 2004, at the Marriott-Country Club Plaza Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri.

The contest is to be held in conjunction with the third annual Winter Storm Weekend. The winner of the Gold Medal event will also be invited to perform at the Winter Storm instructors’ concert.

Order of play:

  • Ed Neigh, Waterloo, Ontario
  • Ann Gray, Calgary, Alberta
  • Ian Whitelaw, Hermosa Beach, California
  • Jori Chisholm, Seattle
  • Alasdair Gillies, Pittsburgh
  • Dan Diessner, Portland, Oregon
  • Ken Sutherland, Menlo Park, California
  • Peter Aumonier, Oakville, Ontario
  • Michael Rogers, Silver Spring, Maryland

    The event will be judged by Mike Cusack, Houston; Willie McCallum, Bearsden, Scotland; and Andrew Wright, Dunblane, Scotland.

    In addition to the Gold Medal event, Silver Medal Piobaireachd Competition and a new North American Gold Medal Drumming Championship will be held. The latter event is sponsored by Tone Czar Bagpipes.
