Field Marshal Opens with an Eire Win

Malahide, Northern Ireland – May 11, 2002 – Northern Ireland’s Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band won in Ireland by besting St Lawrence O’Toole in Grade 1 at the 5th annual Malahide Festival of Piping and Drumming, held at Malahide Castle Grounds, County Dublin.

Upper Crossgare also started its season on a strong note in Grade 2, by taking the prize over Ballycoan, favoured by some to dominate the 2002 season.
