Gandy wins overall trophy at Metro Cup
Newark, New Jersey – February 17, 2007 – Bruce Gandy of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, won the overall title at the annual Metro Cup piping competition, an event that is gaining in popularity with UK-based competitors.
1st Roddy MacLeod, Cumbernauld, Scotland, “Lament for the Viscount of Dundee”
2nd Bruce Gandy, “Lord Lovat’s Lament”
3rd Simon McKerrell, Glasgow, “Lament for Donald Duaghal Mackay”
4th James MacHattie, Toronto, “MacNeil of Barra’s March”
5th Alastair Dunn, Glasgow, “The Prince’s Salute”
1st Gordon Walker, Glasgow
2nd Bruce Gandy
3rd Alen Tully, Dublin
4th Margaret Dunn, Glasgow
5th Simon McKerrell
Also competing but not in the prizes were Alex Gandy, Andrew Hayes, Jeremy Freeman, Alasdair Gillies, Brian Meagher and John Patrick.
Both events were judged by Sandy Jones, Peter Kent and Bob Worrall.
