Glenfiddich Players Announced

The organizers of the annual Glenfiddich Invitational Piping Championships have determined the 10 pipers to play in this year’s event at Blair Castle, Blair Atholl, Scotland, on October 27.

The Glenfiddich is a showcase of the year’s most successful competitive pipers, and is considered something of a World Piping Championship. There are two events, a Piobaireachd and a March, Strathspey & Reel, with an aggregate winner determined.

Willie McCallum of Bearsden, Scotland, last year set the record for most overall Glenfiddich victories with five.

The ten invitees are:

  • Greg Wilson, Falkirk, Scotland (winner of Clasp, Bratach Gorm, and Silver Chanter)
