Ian Duncan New P-M of Drambuie Kirkliston

Ian Duncan, the former Pipe-Major of the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band, has accepted an invitation from incumbant Pipe-Major Martin Wilson to take over the Grade 2 Drambuie Kirkliston Pipe Band. Wilson had led Drambuie since the band’s beginning in the 1990s.

Since leaving Vale of Atholl in 2001, Duncan has played with the ScottishPower Pipe Band. He is an accomplished soloist and a pupil of Bob Brown and Bob Nicol in piobaireachd, and with the Vale he led the band to several major championship titles.

Under Wilson’s direction, Drambuie Kirkliston gained prizes over the years in several championship events. The band was particularly successful in 2003 in drumming. Wilson will remain with Drambuie Kirkliston.

Drambuie Kirkliston has one of the pipe band world’s richest sponsorships and an apparently solid relationship with the company.
