McCallum Wins Overall at Donald MacLeod Memorial

The 8th Donald MacLeod Memorial invitational was held in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, on April 6, with eight pipers playing mainly the music of Pipe Major Donald MacLeod, MBE, in an event that has quickly become one of the premier contests of the year.

Willie McCallum of Bearsden, Scotland, won the aggregate prize by winning the piobaireachd event and finishing second in both the March, Strathspey & Reel and Hornpipe & Jig sections.

Gordon Walker of Glasgow, Scotland, won both light music events, and was third in the piobaireachd.
