McCallum and Walker Split Prizes at Campbeltown
Campbeltown, Argyll, Scotland – June 9, 2001 – The annual Springbank Campbeltown Invitational Piping Competition was held here today with eight of Scotland’s best pipers accepting the challenge.
Willie McCallum of Bearsden, Scotland, and Gordon Walker of Glasgow shared the first prizes, but native son McCallum won the overall prize with most points across the three events.

All the events were judged by Iain MacFadyen, Angus J. MacLellan, and John Wilson.
The event has quickly risen to be one of the top contests on the Scottish piping calendar, with strong support from the Argyll community and sponsorship from Springbank Distillery.
Others competing were Stuart Liddell and Robert Wallace.
