McKerrell, Murray: a good day out at Markinch

Markinch, Scotland – June 6, 2004 – The annual games at Markinch in Fife, Scotland, attracted a good entry for the adult solo piping competitions, with Simon McKerrell of Edinburgh and Douglas Murray of Fife splitting the first and second prizes.

The Grade 2 Lochgelly High School Pipe Band also competed in the Grade 1 band contest, and finished second, ahead of Grade 1 band Grampian Police. Local favourites Dysart & Dundonald won the event.
