Memorial service for Luke Allan November 13

A memorial service for the late Luke Allan, the popular bass-drummer who made a musical mark in pipe band history, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Bramalea Celtic Club, 2155 Steeles Avenue East, Unit 5B, in Bramalea, Ontario, on Satruday, November 13th.

Allan died on October 27th in Halifax, Nova Scotia, after a battle with cancer that lasted several months. A bass-drummer with several top bands during his more than 40 years in the art, his last band was the 78th Highlanders (Halifax). He was best known for his work in the 1980s and ’90s with the 78th Fraser Highlanders of Toronto.
