Mitchell Kelley, 1990-2009
The Grade 2 Niagara Regional Police Pipe Band of St. Catharines, Ontario, is mourning the loss of a bright young piper after the sudden death of Mitchell Kelley, aged 18, after a motor vehicle accident on May 16th, 2009.
The Niagara Falls, Ontario, teen was a member of the band for several years. In addition to the band, Kelley was a swimming instructor at the Boys & Girls Club of Niagara and was an accomplished student at the Niagara Christian Community of Schools.
Visitations will be held at the Morse & Son Funeral Home 5917 Main Street Niagara Falls, Ontario on Wednesday, May 20th, 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be at 11 am at the Morse & Son Chapel.
Two Facebook groups have been created for those wishing to join and add a tribute: In Memory of Mitchell Kelley and Rest in Peace Mitchell Kelley.

I had read about a young man being killed on the QEW near Nagara last weekend. It really hits home when it is someone that you are connected to through a common interest like this. My heart goes out to my former band mates and their families over this tragedy. Best wishes to all during this trying time and for the future. Art Irvine
