Noel Slagle dies

Noel Slagle of Ohio died on the night of July 6th. He had been diagnosed recently with cancer.

Slagle was a well-known and well-liked piper who had been prominent in the North American piping and drumming scene for more than 50 years. He was a piper with the famous Clan MacFarlane Pipe Band during the 1970s, and was Pipe-Major of the successful Western Reserve Pipe Band of Ohio for many years.

He served as a judge at many competitions in both the United States and Canada.

On behalf of the piping and drumming world, we extend our condolences to Noel Slagle’s family and many friends around the world.
