Northern Constabulary receives Common Good funding

The Northern Constabulary Community Pipe Band, the only competitive band in Inverness, Scotland, has received a grant of £7,500 from the Inverness Common Good Fund after the members of the Highland Council’s Inverness City Committee approved funding. 

The amount will be matched by the by the Northern Constabulary and will be used for uniforms, instruments, and transportation and accommodation costs. 

The Northern Constabulary band was formed in 2002 and currently competes in Grade 4A. In 2007 the band won Grade 4B at the Scottish Championships, and was third at the European. The band is led by Pipe-Major Kenny Watson.
