Ottawa Memorial Event Again Won By Livingstone

Ottawa, Ontario – September 28, 2002 –The sixth annual Memorial Police Invitational Piping Competition was held in Ottawa with eight pipers accepting the invitation. The contest is part of Canada’s national memorial weekend in tribute to police officers who have died in the line of duty.

Bill Livingstone of Whitby, Ontario, once again won the piobaireachd event, and James MacHattie, Toronto, took the light music. Livingstone has won the piobaireachd section every time he has played in the competition.

Both events were judged by Jim McGillivray, Aurora, Ontario, who filled in for John Wilson, Glasgow, who had to withdraw from judging due to work commitments.
