Piping Live! Festival Club: Establishing the Borders

One of last year’s developments that has continued is the popular Festival Club that runs each night at the Piping Centre from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. The club features many local performers and bands, blended with short sets from concert headliners.

Held in the main hall at the Piping Centre, the club has a relaxed atmosphere that attracts a large number of pipers and drummers once the regular pubs have closed, and a lots of good conversation passes with great music as a backdrop.

Night one of the Club was hosted by the Lowland & Borders Piping Society, with Nigel Richards introducing a range of acts, many of which featured border bagpipes as a lead instrument. At £7 entry, the Club is not inexpensive, but the music is great and the atmosphere friendly, so it seems worth the cost.
