Premier begins shipping new HTS 350

Premier Percussion Ltd. has begun shipping to dealers its first new pipe band snare drum in several years, the HTS 350, which the company claims offers younger players a lighter drum but with the same performance as the company’s HTS 700 model. The drum was unveiled at the World Pipe Band Championships in August.

The HTS 350 has many similarities to the HTS 700, including a 6mm/6ply-shell construction, but the 350’s birch shell is much smaller at 14″ x 7″. The new drum also includes the 700’s hardware and fittings, and uses a new “Free Floating” shell design that purportedly “eliminates sound restriction and heightens projection, tone and clarity.”
