Prince Edward Island to take beatings in December
Following the success of Kincardine Drums 06, the College of Piping, Summerside, has announced that it will host “Summerside Drums 07” December 7-9, 2007.
Instructors will be snare-drummers Jim Kilpatrick and John Fisher, tenor-drummer Tyler Fry and bass-drummer Craig “Hoss” Colquhoun.
“With more than 80 in-house snare drumming students here at the College of Piping in Summerside it seems to be a natural fit for our organization to act as the host for this event,” said College of Piping Director Scott MacAulay.
Sessions will be held from 8 am to 4 pm on the Saturday and Sunday, and cost is $125, which covers the workshop, a ceilidh and a t-shirt. The Quality Inn Hotel across the street from the College is offering rooms at $49.99 per night.
Those who want to register should call 1-877-BAGPIPE or visit the College of Piping’s website.
