Purves Wins Scottish Season’s First Solo Drumming Event

Bathgate, Scotland – February 10, 2001 – Brian Purves of the Grade 2 Chivas Regal Pipe Band won the first solo drumming competition of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association’s 2001 season at Bathgate Academy here today.

There was a strong turn-out of competitors and spectators at the event, with what was reportedly a high standard. The contest was sponsored and organized by the Torphichen & Bathgate Pipe Band.
