Results scattered at Dan Reid Memorial
San Francisco – May 5, 2007 – The seven first-prizes were shared among five players at the annual Dr. Dan Reid Memorial Invitational Recital/Competition, an event that has no set criteria on which it bases its invitations. The contest splits pipers in to two groups: “Masters” and “Cameron-Gillies,” the former being reserved for those who have done well in the latter in previous years. Competitors are required to select tunes from a complex list of often seldom-heard compositions, and perform in a unique event in which they play only the ground of a piobaireachd.
