Roddy MacLeod in Form at Gairloch Piping Festival

Gairloch, Scotland – September 27-29, 2002 – The 2nd annual Gairloch Piping Festival was a success for Roddy MacLeod of Cumbernauld, Scotland, who won both the major contests. The festival commemorates the music of Iain Dall Mackay, “The Blind Piper of Gairloch.”

The weekend included a recital on Septmeber 27 by Macleod and Gordon Walker of Glasgow, and a lecture by Bridget Mackenzie on the MacKays of Gairloch. The piobaireachd event called for tunes composed by Iain Dall MacKay.
