ScottishPower wins International Quartet Competition at Piping Live!

ScottishPower emerged as the one and only prize-winner at the Piping Live! International Quartet Competition held at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall’s Strathclyde Suite.

ScottishPower won across the MSR and Medley events, against quartets from the Australia Highlanders, the Band Club Sydney, Field Marshal Montgomery, Los Angeles Scots and St. Laurence O’Toole.
The ScottishPower quartet, Pipe-Major Chris Armstrong, prepares to play in the MSR.
The grueling test of nerves was played before a packed house of more than 200 keen listeners.

The event was judged by four anonymous adjudicators planted in the audience for each round, with judges providing nothing but a ranking from first to last. Rankings are then added and the lowest combined total wins. Only one prize – first – is awarded.
