Shotts Adds Another FMM Drummer to Corps

In another exclusive, Alan Reynolds has joined the Shotts & Dykehead drum section, following Andrew Scullion from Field Marshal Montgomery to join Lead Drummer Jim Kilpatrick’s corps.

According to sources, Reynolds was considered the “number two” side drummer at Field Marshal after Scullion. Reynolds has competed at the Grade 1 level since 1981, and, in addition to Field Marshal, has played with the Robert Armstrong Memorial and Royal Ulster Constabulary bands.

“Having Andrew Scullion and his number two, Alan Reynolds, join the Shotts corps has added even more strength and experience to the lineup,” said Kilpatrick.

Scullion left Field Marshal in December, 2002, citing “personal reasons” for his decision. He has been replaced at Field Marshal by Keith Orr, former Lead Drummer of the McNeilstown Pipe Band.

In September, Shotts lost Barry Wilson, a prizewinner at the World Solo Drumming Championships, to ScottishPower, but has backfilled its drumming ranks with Scullion and now Reynolds. Andrew Scullion is a previous World Solo Drumming Champion.
