Springbank Goes To MacColl

Campbeltown, Scotland – August 9, 2003 – The fourth annual Kintyre Piping Society Springbank Invititational was held here at the Argyll Arms Hotel in this small west coast Argyllshire town. Angus MacColl, Oban; Roddy MacLeod, Cumbernbauld; and Willie McCallum, Bearsden shared in most of the spoils of victory.

The event is sponsored by Springbank Distillery, makers of a particularly fine malt whisky, and organized by the venerable Kintyre Piping Society.

Based on an aggregate total from results in the piobaireachd and MSR events, Angus MacColl was declared the overall champion.

All events were judged by John Burgess, Norman Gillies, and John McDougall.
