Strathclyde Police Wins RSPBA Season-Opener

Dunbar, Scotland – May 11, 2002 – The Strathclyde Police Pipe Band won the first outdoor event of the RSPBA season at the sun-drenched seaside village of Dunbar near Edinburgh. It was the first competition for the band’s new Pipe-Major, James Wark, who took over from Ian Plunkett in a major shake-up in the fall.

Dysart & Dundonald served notice that that they are a competitive threat by finishing second. Six band played in Grade 1.

In Grade 2, Drambuie Kirkliston of Edinburgh started their season with a win. The band finished 2001 in the prizes at the Cowal Championship.

Drumming Strathclyde Police
