Strathclyde Police wins Bridge of Allan

Bridge of Allan, Scotland – August 6, 2006 – The final UK contest before the World Pipe Band Championships drew four non-UK Grade 1 bands, including the Scottish Lion-78th Fraser Highlanders and 78th Highlanders (Halifax), who bypassed the North American Championships in favour of competing against contenders like ScottishPower and Strathclyde Police. As with most non-major RSPBA contests, there was no ensemble judge and only one piping adjudicator. Weather was warm and sunny.
