Third Kintyre Contest Goes To Gordon Walker

Campbeltown, Scotland – June 8, 2002 – Gordon Walker, Glasgow, was the overall winner at the 3rd annual Kintyre Piping Society invitational competition held at the Argyll Arms Hotel.

Walker won the March, Strathspey & Reel event, while Roddy MacLeod, Glasgow, took the Piobaireachd contest and Chris Armstrong, Bathgate, Scotland, won the Hornpipe & Jig. Walker’s aggregate win stopped Willie McCallum’s run of two consecutive titles at the contest.
