Thomas Lorenzen and Susan Lunn win tickets to Boghall’s Forte concert

Thomas Lorenzen of Grenzach-Wyhlen, Germany, and Susan Lunn of Kingston, Ontario, are the two winners of a pair of tickets each to the Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band’s “Forte” concert at the Royal Glasgow Concert Hall on Wednesday, August 8th.

Their entries were the first two correct ones drawn randomly for the more than 600 entries received, with readers answering three skill-testing questions on the band’s history and recent news.

The show is the annual event put on by the Grade 2 Glasgow Skye Association Pipe Band, known to most as the “Pre-World’s concert.” Glasgow Skye has sponsored the event since the early-1990s, and 2012 is the second year that Boghall & Bathgate has been invited to put on the show, which Pipe-Major Ross Walker previewed in a recent pipes|drums article.

The tickets are priced at £19.50 each. Walker said last week that approximately three-quarters of the available seats to the concert have been sold.

Earlier in the day, at 1 pm, Ross Walker and former World Solo Drumming Champion and Leading-Drummer Gordon Brown will perform in recital at the free  Pipes+Drums event at the Street Cafe at the National Piping Centre, along with four other top-flight pipe-majors and leading-drummers.
