Toronto Indoor Games expands with new championship

A new Toronto Branch Championship Solo Piping Competition will be held as part of the Toronto Indoor Games on April 7, 2007, featuring the top finishers in preliminary amateur contests for Grade 1 and Grade 2 solo pipers.

The qualifying events will be held on February 17 and March 24. Both events will take place at Denison Armoury in Downsview in north Toronto.

The preliminary events comprise a March and a Strathspey & Reel in February and a Piobaireachd in March. Those who place in the top three in each contest will be invited to compete in a new Toronto Branch Championship at the Toronto Indoor Games on April 7.

All of the competitions are run by the Toronto Branch of the Pipers & Pipe Band Society of Ontario.

After several years’ hiatus, the Toronto Indoor Games were successfully re-started in 2006, attracting a large entry.
