Uist & Barra Overall Goes to McCallum

Glasgow – March 8, 2003 – Willie McCallum of Bearsden, Scotland, got his 2003 competition season off to a good start by winning the piobaireachd event, coming second in the light music, and taking the overall award at the annual Uist & Barra Solo Piping Competition at the National Piping Centre.

The competition has traditionally been the start of the solo season, and over the last decade taken an invitational format, generally reserving spots only for pipers in the senior class.
