Updated: SLOT upsets FMM at Malahide

Malahide, Ireland – May 12, 2007 – The St. Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band of Dublin took home the top prize in Grade 1 at the tenth annual Malahide International Festival of Piping & Drumming. SLOT beat the 2006 World Champions Field Marshal Montgomery, which had won the contest for nine straight years.

  1. Was it the sheep bags and cane reeds or them competeing on home turf? Nice to see a shake up and may be a wake up to Field Marshall to get the finger out. Watch for FMM to crank it up a knotch the Saturday.

  2. Again, at Dumbarton, FMM had drumming problems (placed 1st and 1st in piping). See results on the RSPBA website. Malahide full results not posted yet after a week. Patrick
