Vale of Atholl takes Dunbar

Dunbar, Scotland – May 14, 2005 – The Vale of Atholl Pipe Band of Pitlochry, Scotland, emerged winners in Grade 1 at Dunbar, the second contest of the Scottish outdoor season. The Strathclyde Police, in the debut contest for the band’s new Pipe-Major, Donald Mackay, was second, with the band’s drum- and bass-sections taking the grade.

2nd Strathclyde Police
3rd Boghall & Bathgate
4th Lothian & Borders Police
Drumming: Strathclyde Police; Bass-section: Strathclyde Police

There were four Grade 1 bands entered, and several Grade 2 bands played up.

1st Drambuie-Kirkliston
2nd Torphichen & Bathgate
3rd Tayside Police
4th Grampian Police
Drumming: Drambuie
