Windsor Police Adds Grade 3 Band

The Windsor Police Pipe Band of Windsor, Ontario, has announced that it has added a third band to its program, which already comprised Grade 2 and Grade 4 units.

According to the organization, the addition of the Grade 3 band is a result of an expanded teaching program and additional members joining following the 2002 season, in which both Grade 2 and Grade 4 bands attained Pipers & Pipe Band Society of Ontario Champion Supreme titles for most points at championships over the year.

It was announced that Bill Baird will head the new Grade 3 program. Barry Ewen continues as Pipe-Major of the Grade 2 band, which also enjoyed a fifth place in the Grade 2 event at the 2002 World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow.

The Windsor Police piping and drumming school is managed by piper Drew Duncan and drummer Greg Dinsdale, providing free instruction to anyone interested.
