World’s Grade 1 qualifier draw and pre-qualifiers announced

Following the results announcement at the 2012 European Championships, the following Grade 1 bands pre-qualified for the Final at the World Pipe Band Championships on August 11th:

Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia (Scotland)

Field Marshal Montgomery (Northern Ireland)

Inveraray & District (Scotland)

Fife Constabulary (Scotland)

Strathclyde Police (Scotland)

St Laurence O’Toole (Ireland)

ScottishPower (Scotland)

Simon Fraser University (Canada)

RSPBA-member bands pre-qualify from points accrued at the previous three major championships, while any “overseas” band that placed in the top-six at the 2011 World Championship (St. Laurence O’Toole and SFU) gain an automatic spot in the World’s Final.

The draw for the Qualifying competition at the World’s was also announced:
