Callum Beaumont wins 2014 Metro Cup
Newark, New Jersey – February 15, 2014 – By winning the light music and coming second in the piobaireachd, Callum Beaumont of Bo’ness, Scotland, emerged as the overall winner of the 2014 Metro Cup Highland Bagpipe Championship, the annual event at the Ramada Inn organized by the Metro New York Branch of the EUSPBA. Prizes in each event were 1st: $1000, 2nd: $600, 3rd: $400, 4th: $200, 5th: $100. The winner received a gold medal valued at $1,700. Competitors based in Scotland won nine of the 10 prizes. In the Pipe-Major George M. Bell Memorial Amateur Piping Championship, Mary Wallace was the overall winner.
