Chisholm, Gandy, Browns big winners at Winter Storm

Kansas City, Missouri – January 16, 2009 – Jori Chisholm of Seattle and Alex Gandy of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, won the Gold Medal piobaireachd and light music events at the eighth annual Winter Storm competitions at the Marriott-County Club Plaza hotel, while Glenn Brown of Glasgow was the most consistent senior solo piping prize-winner. Gandy also won the Silver Medal piobaireachd event. The competitions are part of a weekend of workshops and recitals. Blair Brown of Houston won the top solo drumming award, while Steve Foley of California and Andrew Elliott of Toronto took top honour in the senior bass and tenor events.
