Meunier takes GDM

Glasgow – January 20, 2011 – Alexis Meunier of Brittany was the overall winner of the annual Gordon Duncan Memorial Solo Piping Competition held at the National Piping Centre. The invitational contest pits three players each against each other in Scottish, Breton and Irish music sections. Meunier won the Breton event, while Alistair Henderson, Dunoon, Scotland, took the Scottish and Robert Watt, Northern Ireland, won the Irish. Ian Duncan and Brian Donaldson judged the Scottish section, William Garrett and Lenny Brown adjudicated the Irish, and Herve Le Floch and Patrick Mollard assessed the Breton.
