North Stratton wins Day 1 at SK Gathering

Regina, Saskatchewan – May 19, 2018 – The North Stratton Pipe Band of Edmonton emerged as the overall winner of the Grade 2 event at day one of the Saskatchewan Highland Gathering & Celtic Festival. Thirteen bands competed in near-perfect conditions in Victoria Park, which is at the centre of Regina’s Downtown. Stewart Smith of Calgary won the MSR and Jig & Hornpipe in the Professional solo piping (against four others), and Raphael Mercier won the piobaireachd against two others.
