Police Memorial won by Hayes

Ottawa – September 24, 2011 – Andrew Hayes of Ottawa was the winner of both the Piobaireachd and the double MSR events at the annual Canadian Police Professional Solo Piping Competition held at Ottawa City Hall. The event is part of the Canada’s annual weekend of activities that commemorate fallen emergency workers. Proceeds from the event went to families of officers who died in the line of duty.

Also competing but not in the prizes: Alan Clark, Ottawa; Thomas Munroe, Toronto; and Nick  van Ouwerkerk, Prince Edward Island. Both events were judged by Andrew Berthoff.
