2011 World’s Week Grade 1 practice schedules

Manawatu Scottish (New Zealand)

When: Aug. 8-9, 2:30-4:30; Aug 10, 10:30-12.

Where: Murano Court, Murano St., Glasgow, practicing on the nearby green space

Notes: The band will be performing at George Square midday Thursday and will have a final pre-World’s practice at Glasgow Green on Aug, 12, 1:30-2:30pm. All visitors are warmly welcome!

Oran Mor (USA)

When: Wed., Thur., Fri. before the World’s at 10 am.

Where: John Forty’s Court, University of Stirling, Stirling.

Note: Oran Mor will perform at George Square, Glasgow, on Tuesday morning, and practice at 5 pm Tuesday at the National Piping Centre.

Peel Regional Police (Canada)

When: Tue, Aug 9 – 1-2:30 pm; Wed, Aug 10 – 11 am-12:30 pm; Thur, Aug 11 – 1-2:30 pm; Fri, Aug 12 – 1-2:30 pm

Where: Victoria Hall, Glasgow Caledonian University; 171 Kyle Street, Glasgow

Notes: “Victoria Hall is a gated facility, so if anyone wants to come and watch us practice, they will need to speak to one of the band members ahead of time so they can  arrange to be let in.” Band also performing on Aug 8, 7 pm at the Piping on the Clyde concert. Drum corps is one of five invited to perform in the  Masters Drumming event held in the Todd Bar on Aug 9. P-M John Cairns and L-D Graham Brown will be playing at the pipes|drums Pipes+Drums eventon Aug 10, at the Piping Live Street Cafe outside the National Piping Centre at 2 pm; some of the band’s drummers will be competing at the Drumming for Drinks event at the Todd Bar on Wednesday afternoon.
