Georgetown Grade 1 medley videos – sunshine on Dunedin

Published: June 11, 2019

pipes|drums is pleased to bring our readers/viewers/listeners videos from the Grade 1 medley competition at the 2019 Georgetown Highland Games in Georgetown, Ontario, on June 8.

The competition was won by City of Dunedin of Florida, likely the first United States-based band to win a Grade 1 competition in Ontario since Worcester Kiltie of Massachusetts in the late 1960s, perhaps marking a turning point for pipe bands in North America.

The videos are captured and published with the written permission of each band and the organizers of the event. Each band was offered remuneration for the use of their work. We thank them for their permission and support.

If you like these videos, and pipes|drums in general, please consider taking out a subscription so that you can have access to every one of the more than 6,000 articles in our archive, and so you can help ensure that we can keep quality content coming to you. We’re nonprofit, and all of the proceeds from subscriptions, donations and advertising are put back into the online magazine, and what’s left over is given to worthwhile nonprofit piping and drumming events and causes.
