The 2017 season: questions, questions . . .
Question 4: Will IDPB finally cop the Big One?
While most bands would give their eye teeth and kilts to do so well, second is the hardest prize to win and Inveraray & District has been twice runners-up at the World’s, including last year when many predicted and even expected the band finally to capture the big prize. An RSPBA Champion of Champions title might have been some solace, but the pressure continues to build for IDPB, and some would say that it’s something of a now-or-never situation for this magically musical – and technically superior – band.
Question 5: SLOT in?
Seven years have passed already since St. Laurence O’Toole‘s 2010 World Championship win, and Dublin’s finest in that time changed pipe-majors and returned to regular top-three status. Generally quiet when it comes to news, mainly because there’s never a lot of hubbub with them, SLOT can be stealthy, but a strong contender and a constant favourite to come out on top with their inimitable fluid music and rich ensemble presence that have become the band’s trademarks. What’s more, they won the European last year at Forres
+ SLOT in European union at Forres
