Dowco Triumph Street takes un-fly-in tack for World’s – October 15th

Following another year of making the Grade 1 World’s Final but again not getting into the top-six, Vancouver’s Dowco Triumph Street took the novel approach of creating a unit of players based in the UK that would practice there until the Glasgow Week in August.

Why was this story important? Another significant sign of the times, Dowco Triumph Street recognizing that it needs to do something adventurous and not a little courageous to take the band to the next level at the World’s. The practice of “fly-ins” to championships is familiar, but never before has an “overseas” band maintained a completely separate unit in the UK to compete at a single competition. The result will be interesting, to say the least, and many ears will be on DTSPB in the World’s Final on August 13, 2016, to see if this experiment pays off.
